A year after his passing, late Bishop Chief Dr Wesley Kigasung’s demeanors, wisdom, kind words and exemplary life as a mentor and humble leader of 1.2 millions followers in Papua New Guinea is remembered.

This was not only in ELCPNG, but also by other partner churches overseas.

The usually sleepy Aluki village in Bukawa village in Morobe Province sprang to life on May 14 as this was the first anniversary of Rev Kigasung’s death and 17 ELC-District presidents led by acting head bishop Rev Zau Rapa and general church secretary, Mr. Isaac Teo joined the people from Laulu Circuit in Yabem District in observing the day.

Rev Rapa and Mr Teo unveiled the headstone. Rev Rapa described late Kigasung as “selfless and a real role model” who led by example and whose good deeds and accomplishments have been written in the hearts of many who knew him as a colleague and leader.
