Jesus said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you … (Math 28: 19 -20 NKJV).” This great calling and commission was and is commanded unto everyone who called themselves Christians. The call is for all of us.

Siwert Robert is currently a teacher at the Morobe Special Education Resources Center (MSERC), and a member of Papua New Guinea Lutheran Students and Graduates Partnership (PNGLTSGP). He has come to perceive that calling as a “high demand call” by God to reach out to the unreached and unsaved portion of humanity. Challenged by the great evangelical statement by the first baptized local Lutheran evangelists from Finschaffen “taim yupela igo, yupela i ting bai yupela kam bek o nogat?” [When you go, do you think you will ever retrun home], when asked by missionary Kaiser They confidently replied, “mipela ino ting bai mipela kam bek.” [We do not think we will ever return]. Siwert has raised his hands to leave his job, family, loved ones and his country to go after this call.

This statement is the pillar of the great mission work along the length and breath of  Papua New Guinea. They walked all across Papua New Guinea spreading the gospel. Thier mission leaves a bigger foot prints, than any of us today can ever measure against. This is the challenge to Siwert  as a descended to some of these great evangelist.

Siwert will be in Malaysia in June 2010, to be part of the Global Ministry Teams (GMT) and will serve amongst the un-reached Malay people who are of Islamic background.

Global Ministry Teams has a training school called ‘Global Evangelism Training’ (GET), which Siwert will attend. GET is a nine-week intensive cross-cultural training program designed to equip leaders for local and foreign services. It has a training program that enhances prior ministry experiences and training through spiritual formation and practical impartation. This intensive training covers a variety of practical missiological subjects that will prepare the missionary for an easier transition into long-term service on the field.

GET is a step in the process that Global Ministry Teams has to help individuals get ‘from the altar to the field.” GET is conducted yearly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June-August. Siwert will go to GET through PNG World Missions.

“If we don’t reach these people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, who-else will do it” Rom 10:14-15!
