ELC-Ukata District was privileged to received two pronged training, a Stewardship training and Holistic Leadership Training in single package.

The training facilitaors were Ms. Dava Kale (Stewardship ) and Pr Matei Ibak ( Holistic Leadership).

The first training at Gatok Mission from 11th –15th May, 2009 saw 60 participants from various circuits of ELC-Ukata District attending.

The  second training at Nankina Circuit was much bigger with 101 participants.

Nankina is located in one of remotest locations on the borders of Madang and Morobe Provinces and have rarely had trainings of such nature in the past.

People at Bambu Parish where the training was held expressed their joy through drama, songs, dance and praise.

Some participants came as far as Tapen and Teptep Circuit, while members from other churches and government officers from LLG also attended the course.

Ms Kale reported that people of Nankina were very punctual and asked many critical questions during the week long training.

Most of their questions were based on practical things.

Subjects like   course of the workshop  also included:

HIV/AIDS, Climate Change, Law and Order, Sunday School programs and Women programs were also covered..

The people of Nankina were happy that the training was brought to their door step, saying it would be have been expensive for them to travel to Lae to acquire such empowerment.
